There are many solutions available for temperature data logging. There are two complete different approaches. The choice depends on the required result. One solution is to use and electronic device, which stores the values in selectable time spans, by special triggering or by changing. The trigger rules and the analyses of the logged data, give you an idea about the thermal environment of a running device. Often the logging devices are equipped with memory media interfaces, so that the logged data can be stored on a memory card for further computational analysis after the logging time. This is very comfortable. In case you only want to test, which temperature is reached during the working time, it is possible to use detector pads. They change their color irreversibly at a certain temperature. By using detector pads having different detection temperature it is possible to identify the maximum temperature reached over a longer period without additional energy use or special equipment.
