Energy labelling of household lamps
Directive 92/75 /EEC provides guidance on the method of labelling energy consuming household lamps. The label ranges form the letters A to G of the alphabet (A being the most energy efficient and G being the least). The labelling system informs the user of the energy efficiency of the product, and encourages users to use lower energy and more efficient products. The document informs on the correct energy rating of each of the labels grading’s and the administerial requirements for any product using the label. This system is beneficial to the producer as a means of communicating product quality and reliability. Products qualifying to the directive may use the energy-rating label with their products rating marked on it.
