Establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-using products (EuP)

The recast version of the Ecodesign Directive provides a framework with consistent EU-wide rules for improving the environmental performance of Energy Related Products (ERPs). ERPs are products, which do not use energy directly but influence energy consumption. This directive aims to benefit compliant producers and consumers though improved ‘product quality and environmental protection’ and sanctioning the market development of conforming goods. Any non-conforming ERP will be prohibited for CE marking curbing their sale within the EU.
